a few hours into taimanin, the act of reading felt like some kind of psychological and mental torture. Reading anything in japanese even with textractor and the ample use of a dictionary is really fucking hard and draining, doubly so if you’re not enjoying what you’re reading. my immersion stats for this week aren't quite accurate because i didn't record my time with taimanin asagi on account of not knowing how to use the clipboard paste html properly lol i spent around 8 hours on my first day reading this but it wasn't able to hold my interest and i dropped it the following day for nikuniku (which was recommended to me by dinuz on this server). in terms of immersion, i jumped straight into reading vns with taimanin asagi, since i heard nukiges were good for beginners to start with. ![]() i unfortunately forgot to track these stats, but i also spent around 3 hours every day the past week watching cure dolly videos. this week i learned 50 cards/day from the core 2.3k vn deck and starting from feb 15, an additional 20 cards/day from a personal deck. i also learned hiragana and katakana a year or so ago using duolingo on two 12 hour flights. ![]() this is more or less my first week of learning japanese, although i spent the weekend prior on researching different methods of japanese learning, reading up on success stories and setting up a rough plan and some goals for myself. ![]() ![]() I started on feb 14 so it's not a full week but close enough.
